Παλλικαρισμοί με τα αγάλματα

Με κόκκινη και κίτρινη μπογιά περίελουσαν το άγαλμα του Αρχιεπισκόπου Μακαρίου Γ΄ ανεγκέφαλοι νυκτοβάτες, οι οποίοι ενοχλήθηκαν από το άγαλμα μόνο λίγες μέρες πριν αυτό μετακινηθεί στο Θρονί. «Ο Θεός να τους συγχωρήσει», λέει ο Αρχιεπίσκοπος Χρυσόστομος Β΄ παραπέμποντας σαφώς στο «Ο Θεός να τους ελεήσει».

Did nobody notice the signature? I won’t judge their act (although I should admit that I am quite fascinated by it), but it’s funny to look at how the media portays this event as a pure act of thoughtless vandalism. Oh yes, they know how to read between the lines. «Ο Θεός να τους ελεήσει», indeed.
